- Primary Level (Grades 2 to 4)
- Lower Level (Grades 5 & 6)

Primary Levels
Primary 2, 3, and 4 Levels are for students applying to Grades 2, 3, or 4. The test is comprised of multiple-choice questions in Reading and Mathematics. The Primary 2 Reading section also includes a few Auditory Comprehension questions read aloud to the student.
The online test format requires students to select multiple-choice responses digitally. The paper test format requires students to bubble their multiple-choice answers in a test booklet. There is no writing sample portion of the exam for the Primary Levels. There is one scheduled 5- to 10-minute break.
Lower, Middle, and Upper Levels
These levels feature standardized Verbal and Quantitative Reasoning sections that measure a student’s capability for learning and Reading Comprehension and Mathematics Achievement sections that provide specific information about a student’s strengths and weaknesses. The Reading Comprehension section evaluates a student’s reading level and ability to comprehend material from the sciences and humanities.
The online test format requires students to select multiple-choice responses digitally and type their essays. The paper test format requires students to bubble in their multiple-choice reactions on a separate answer sheet and handwrite their reports. The exam also includes an unscored essay written in response to a prompt.
There are two scheduled 5- to 10-minute breaks.
