Academies of Loudoun Prep by Young Scholars Circle
Schedule: October 31, 2023, from 9:45 a.m. to 6:30 p.m.

9:45 am to 12:00 noon – Academies of Loudoun Mock Tests: AOL Writing Test and STEM Thinking Skills Test. 10-minute break in between. Students bring their own laptops and must have paid the tuition by October 30th. Students are expected to know how to access the YSC dashboard practice tests.
12:00 to 1:00 pm – Lunch on your own. Parents pick up their students for lunch or students bring their own lunch and beverage and eat them on the second floor lounge of the building.
1:00 to 4:15 pm – STEM Thinking Skills Test Prep Review of the Mock Practice Test. The spread of the 15-minute break will be determined by Dr. Pizana.
4:15 to 4:30 – Break
4:30 to 6:30 pm – AOL Writing Test Prep Feedback based on the AOL Writing Rubric. Based on the results, the Writing teacher will teach some Writing Techniques, Test-Taking Skills, and Structure. The students are expected to know the two types of AOL Writing Prompts ahead of time or they have finished the online classes or the self-paced class. The feedback that we will give here is based on one mock test prompt that the students have taken on that day.

Both the AOL Writing Prompt and the STEM Thinking Skills Test Prep questions will differ from our regular final test in the self-paced and online class materials. This session will hone students’ test-taking skills and pacing by experiencing a live, in-person test simulation.
