An Interactive Read-Aloud (IRA) is when a teacher orally reads a purposefully-selected book to the class, while asking corresponding, thought provoking discussion questions throughout the reading of the book. Interactive Read Aloud provide students with an engaging reading experience that enables them to make meaning, to develop high level thinking, and to listen to other while discussing a book.

All student participants need to have their own laptop/MacBook, Ipad, Iphone or Android to join this live online Interactive Read Aloud via Zoom.
Registration is required. You will need to create your own username and password in our Young Scholars Circle website. Class link and some materials will be available in our dashboard. No walk-ins. Limited seats available to ensure quality instruction.

The texts that we will use during the interactive read aloud will be from a wide variety of genres that would tap into the readers’ interests and be full of rich vocabulary. These same texts can be used as part of a focus lesson in Reading and Writing Workshops.
